of The Order of Knights of Pythias.
To accomplish this, we rely on our brothers, sisters, historians
and Pythian friends to send us
information and web links about past events, former members
and related historical subjects.

Grand Chancellor
1932 - Lodge,
Long Beach No. 210
1932 - Melville Zabina Ellis
Chiropractor. Born on the 11th December 1889 at Philadelphia
Penn, and educated at the public schools
of Philadelphia and Central High School of the same city. Came
to California and studied at
the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, and entered the Chiropractic
the profession at Long Beach.
Initiated in Long Beach, on the 7th of December 1920, and served
at its Chancellor Commander
for the term ending December 31, 1923. The Grand Lodge Rank
was conferred upon him May 19, 1924
at the Convention held in Oakland. Nominated and elected Grand
Prelate in 1930, and advanced to the
Grand Chancellor's Chair in due course. Served on the Petitions
and Grievances Committee and on the
Committee on the Princes of Syracuse.
A member of the Board of Governors of the California Pythian
Home, 1932, 1933, 1934.
A member of Al Borak Temple No. 75, D.O.K.K. of Los Angeles.
During his term as Grand Chancellor he endeared himself to every
member of the Order by his
wonderful personality, his vivacious manner and his love of
the Order, to which he gave ample of his time,
especially during the time of the earthquake at Long Beach,
and although himself a victim by material loss,
he was ever to the forefront doing all that was possible for
his fellow Pythians, their wives and families,
and various Committees on the Relief work.
